Mária Farkas, Chair of the Supervisory Board
Born on 9 December 1955, she earned a degree in economics specializing in industrial design and organisation at the Budapest University of Economics in 1985. Obtained a certificate as a chartered accountant in 1991, as a tax consultant in 1993, and passed her stock exchange qualification exam in 1995.
Registered accountant since 1992; her current membership status is “suspended at her own request”. Worked for industrial and trading companies until 1992 in the areas of organisation, business management and accounting as a mid-level manager in various positions (head of department, head of division). Chief accountant at ROLITRON Biolektronikai Kft., a commercial company, and Innofinance Pénzintézeti Rt. between 1990 and 1992.
Registered accountant in managerial positions at KPMG and Deloitte & Touche between 1992 and 1998; managed the auditing of annual financial reports as well as reports related to transformations, issuance of shares and issuance of bonds for production and trading companies, as well as credit and financial institutions, also providing accounting and related consultancy services.
Chief accountant at Magyar Fejlesztési Bank Rt. as managing director between 1998 and 2002. Representing Magyar Fejlesztési Bank Rt., she served as chair of the Supervisory Board for various business organisations between 1998 and 2002.
From June 2003 worked at Központi Elszámolóház és Értéktár (Budapest) Zrt. (KELER), where she was involved in regulatory and accounting consultancy services related to the issuance of licences to operate as a specialized credit institution, and from November 2003 she led the internal audit organisation.
Since 2010 she has been CEO-level consultant at Magyar Fejlesztési Bank Zrt.
In addition to being chairman of the Supervisory Board at the Student Loan Centre since 1 September 2011, she has also been a member of the Supervisory Board of Mecsekerdő Zrt. and chair of the Supervisory Board of Szalók Holding Zrt. since August 2010.
Zoltán Urbán, Member of the Supervisory Board
Born in 1960, he earned a degree in economics at the Budapest University of Economics in 1984. Between 1992–1996 he participated in a number of communication and organisational development training events at Dale Carnegie and then worked as an assistant trainer at company training courses. In 1994 he spent two months at Wharton, in Philadelphia. In 1996 he completed the PhD training of the College of Finance and Accounting and since 2004 he participated at various trainings on company financing and investments organized by Euromoney and Globecon.
He has been working in the Hungarian banking sector for 20 years: his career started in 1993 at the international Department of the cooperative-owned Iparbankház Rt. In 1993 he was manager of the operational money and capital market department of OTP, then Managing Director of the Structured Financing Division of HypoVereinsbank Hungária Rt., Deputy Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Magyar Fejlesztési Bank Rt. between 2001–2002, then managing director and member of the board of directors of Dresdner Bank Hugária, director of the Budapest office of the Landesbank Banden-Worttemberg since October 1994. He has been Deputy CEO and member of the Board of Directors of Magyar Fejlesztési Bank Zrt. since June 2010.
He is fluent in English and German and also speaks some Russian and Swedish.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank (EIB) , Garantiqa Hitelgarancia Zrt., Déli Áramlat Zrt. and member of the Supervisory Board of ITDH.
He is married with two children at grammar school.
Dénes Jobbágy, member of the Supervisory Board
Born in 1961 in Budapest, he earned his electrical engineering degree from the Technical University of Budapest in 1984 and his Ph.D. in computer engineering in 1991. He continued his studies and training in France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.
Between 1984 and 1990 he worked as a software developer then as a team leader at VIDEOTON Fejlesztési Intézet. Until 1992 he was consultant to the Vice President of Műszertechnika Holding Kft. and then Data Communications Manager.
Between 1993 and 1995 he was CEO of Hungaro DigiTel Kft., a Hungarian-Portugal joint venture, green field company.
In 1996 Mr. Jobbágy worked as the Deputy Marketing Director of MATÁV Rt. and member of the Executive Board.
Between 1997 and 2001 he was CEO of Novacom Távközlési Kft., a German-owned company (with a controlling interest from the RWE Group), and was also active in the liberalisation process in the Hungarian telecommunications market as one of the founding founders of Távközlési Érdekegyeztető Fórum Alternatív Táblája.
Between 2001 and 2002 he worked as the Deputy CIO of the State Budget Agency and member of the Board of Directors of EXIM Bank.
Between 2002 and 2010 he acted as a consultant and project manager. Among other things, he worked for the state budget committee of the Hungarian Parliament, for one of the Budapest districts, was involved in the review of the Unified Telecommunications Act, and coordinated the introduction of an integrated IT system supporting EU tenders in a neighbouring country.
Currently he is consultant to the President and CEO of Magyar Fejlesztési Bank Zrt.
He has a strong command of English and is a father of three adult children.
Executive employees responsible for the management of the company
Csaba Bugár, CEO
Born on 30 January 1959 in Csorna, he earned his degree in business administration and economics. He first spent 5 years with Magyar Hitel Bank Rt., then moved to Portfolió Bank Rt., Hitelgarancia Rt. and ABN AMRO Bank Rt. where he held managerial positions. He then headed Magyar Követeléskezelő Rt., then as CEO of BÁT Budapesti Árutőzsde Rt. he assumed an active role in establishing the integration processes of the two Budapest stock exchanges. Between 2006 and 2010 he worked as a member of the management of various companies providing financial and investment services and involved in property development and use.
He has been CEO at the Student Loan Centre since 8 July 2010.
Lovas Attila, Deputy CEO
Born on 12 August 1965 in Miskolc, he earned his degree in electrical production engineering at Kandó Kálmán Electrical Engineering Technical College. In 1994 he graduated from the College of Foreign Trade. He passed his broker exam at the Budapest Commodity Exchange in 1998. In 2008 he earned his certificate as an asset, fund and portfolio manager and in 2009 the EFFAS investment analysis certificate. In 2010 he passed his stock exchange exam and the related short-term and option exams. Between 1989–1994 he worked for Budapesti Elektromos Művek. Next he was department head at the Budapest Commodity Exchange, then from 1999 its Deputy Managing Director and Deputy CEO from 2003. He has been working as consultant to the CEO of the Budapest Commodity Exchange from 2005 and Director of Trading from 2008.
He has been Deputy CEO of the Student Loan Centre since 16 August 2010. He has an intermediate language exam in business English.
Dr. Zoltán Nagy, Deputy CEO
Born on 3 August 1957 in Zirc, he earned his law degree in 1981 from the Faculty of Law of József Attila University. He passed the bar in 1983. Between 1981 and 1985 he worked as a clerk, then as a judge, at the Court of Budapest’s 20th and 21st District. Between 1985 and 1987 he was an assigned judge at the Ministry of Justice and in 1988 a government counsel at the Secretariat of the Economics Government Committee. Between 1989–1992 he worked as department head at the Legislaion Preparation Department of the Ministry of Justice and then as Head of the Justice and Codification Department. Between 1992–2010 he was legal director and later Deputy CEO at Garantiqa Hitelgarancia Zrt.
He has been Deputy CEO of the Student Loan Centre since 16 October 2010.D
