“Assignment” instead of actually paying the tuition fee!
Students who have taken out a Student Loan do not need to actually pay the tuition fee in order to enrol for a university term.
The solution:
1. Applying for a Student Loan
2. Completion of an Assignment Form.
In order to apply for a Student Loan, students need to prove their official status as students. In the case of fee-paying courses, most higher educational institutions had provided such proof only after the student had paid the required tuition fee, rendering it impossible to fund the tuition fee directly from the Student Loan.
From the academic year 2008/2009 students studying at the higher education institutions that signed an agreement with the Student Loan Centre have been allowed to enrol without paying their tuition fee. Students are advised to request information about this opportunity at their Student Affairs Office.
Students can transfer a portion of their Student Loan, specified in a written agreement, directly to the account of their higher educational institution. In such cases the institution grants official status to the students as if they had paid their tuition fee at the beginning of the term. This new procedure is called “assignment”. Assignment should be renewed every semester.
Please see the section entitled „How you can get assignment?” for more information on how you can apply for it.
You can find more information on the assignment procedure here. You can access the required forms at the Student Loan Direct website.
